Toll Revision Application – 15th April 2024
The Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry Joint Committee has applied to the Secretary of State for Transport for an Order, under Section 6 of the Transport Charges (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1954, to revise tolls on the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry.
The general effect of the application is to increase all cash tolls by 15.4%, rounding to the nearest 10p where applicable.
If approved by the Secretary of State, the application will mean a cash toll of £3.00 for cars. The discounts for pre-paid crossings using the TamarTag scheme will continue to be 50% of the full toll, resulting in a tag toll for cars and vans of £1.50. The concession will not however form part of the formal Toll Order.
Tolls for other vehicles will broadly increase pro rata with the exception being an increase of the motorcycle toll charged at Torpoint Ferry from 50p to £1.00.
The Councils have requested increases are applied on or prior to 1 November 2024.
