Update on Tamar II
The final preparations required for Tamar II to return to service went extremely well over the weekend.
A final safety check is due to be carried out this morning (Monday, 24 June) and, providing this is successful, we will be returning to a three ferry service from 2pm.
The ferry was towed back to Torpoint on 11 June following the completion of its five yearly refit at A & P Falmouth. Staff from Tamar Crossings and A&P Falmouth have spent the past two weeks removing the towing gear and preparing the vessel for service. This has included reconnecting the ferry to the chains, restoring the lifesaving & firefighting equipment and seating, and carrying out engineering trials of the upgraded chain drive system.
