A Public Local Inquiry into the application to revise tolls on the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry is being held at the Copthorne Hotel in Plymouth commencing on Tuesday, October 15th.
The inquiry is being led by an independent Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State for Transport to consider the Toll Revision Application formally submitted by Tamar Crossings earlier this year.
The hearing, which will hear evidence from all parties, is open to the public. It will begin at 10 am on 15 October and is scheduled to last for up to four days.
Following the hearing the Inspector will consider all of the evidence and prepare a report with a recommendation for the Secretary of State for Transport who will make the final decision on whether to make a formal Order authorising an increase in tolls on both the Tamar Bridge and the Torpoint Ferry.
Both the Inspector’s report and the decision made by the Secretary of State will be published by the Department of Transport.
