The Public Local Inquiry into the application to revise tolls on the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry, held at the Copthorne Hotel, ended yesterday ( 15 October). The hearing was originally scheduled to take up to four days but was completed in one day after the Inspector heard from all those giving evidence.
The Inspector will now consider all of the evidence and prepare a report with a recommendation for the Secretary of State for Transport who will make the final decision on whether to make a formal Order authorising an increase in tolls on both the Tamar Bridge and the Torpoint Ferry. This decision is not currently expected before December 2024.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the inquiry.
